We got back from Tamale this evening in time to unload the cold food stuff that we bought, grab our Bibles and head back to Kulkpeni for Bible study. Timothy seemed surprised to see us because he said that he saw us pass his house on our way back from Tamale. He probably was wondering if we would have time to make it back for Bible study.
We finished most of our errands today. We bought 20 more cases of Konkomba Bibles. We did not find as many cans of formula as we would have liked to get but we did not do too bad. We are hoping that the lady in Yendi market comes through with the 10 cases she promised. The reason we are scurrying around trying to find as much formula as we can is because Ramadan is going to start and the workers will go for their annual leave the last 3 weeks of Ramadan. We have to have enough formula on hand to send with the caregivers to last for 3 weeks.
While we were in Tamale we went to the bank and we also went to Africa World Airlines and bought the tickets for our son-in-law and grandson for their trip to visit us next month. Steve wanted to be sure and get the tickets early because he did not want to chance them being sold out on the dates we needed to fly and have to make that 15 hour road trip to get to Accra. I personally like a road trip.
We were not able to pick up the new Social Welfare license for the Child Center because there is a new lady in charge and she said she did not know where our license is. She said that she would look for it and told Steve to come back on Monday and see if she found it. Now that is pretty scary! Without our license we will be in serious trouble. Once before they lost our license but fortunately we had copies of all the documentation, certificates and audit. It was still a mess getting it all straightened out. Steve does not want to make an unnecessary trip to Tamale; he said he was going to call on Friday and see if she found the certificate.
The room we slept in last night was nice and cool! We were happy with the A/C but the bed left much to be desired. We slept on a box spring with no mattress. I don’t think that they know the beds are not supposed to be divided. When you ran your hand over the box spring you could feel every one of the springs; it was the firmest bed we have ever slept on! Our backs could feel the springs too! Steve said that next time we stay there he is going to ask for an upstairs room again; he said he would rather sleep on a hard bed than in a hot room! Our bed will feel good tonight!
Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!

The Monkeyshines
This monkey is not “shining” tonight! The parents had been gone 28 hours! I was excited to see the van pull through the gate but my excitement was killed when I saw them unload a few things, change vehicles and leave again. I waited another 2 hours before the truck drove back into the yard. I got my hopes up again only to have them dashed when no one released me from my jail cell! Mom brought me a bottle of milk and my liquid vitamins. She said that it was too late to get me out because I would think that I was going to get to sleep in their bed tonight. Now I ask you, “What in the world is wrong with that plan? It sounds like a very good plan to me!”
I was hungry and I drank the whole bottle; don’t laugh at me; yes, I still take a bottle! That is the way Mom makes sure I get all the nutrition that I need. I also enjoyed my “blood tonic”. Doesn’t “blood tonic” sound much more necessary than “vitamins”?
Mom promised that tomorrow she would make up for neglecting me!
We will see how that works out!
Love, Skeeter
