Steve said that the monthly class went well today. Today 22 men attended the class. The men are really enjoying the children’s class material. Today’s lesson was about Noah. Noah is a story that everyone young and old love to hear and repeat.
Only a couple of the men were wearing masks. Steve had to make a trip back to the mission house to get disposable masks for the men. The men could move the benches outside under the shade trees but they prefer to sit in the hot church building. They say that it is not so hot because there are a couple ceiling fans. Please! That just makes it feel like you are sitting in front of a heater! He gave them calendars, note tablets and pens. They were disappointed when he told them that we could not buy Konkomba Bibles.
Rita, Timothy Niligrini’s wife, always cooks lunch for the men. Steve usually eats with them but since the Covid Virus is all around he did not feel that it was safe to unmask and eat lunch. Timothy understood his caution.
We have a full calendar for April; all the Sunday’s have been scheduled as well as one of the Friday’s. We will have to take disposable masks to all the churches we visit. Better to be safe than sorry and besides Ghana is still under a mask, hand sanitizing and social distancing ordinance. The social distancing is really difficult even if we meet outside because the churches have benches and too many people.
Today is Yendi’s big market day; I am sure that most of the men will stop by the market before they head home this afternoon.
Everything was quiet in the compound today; only Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo were here so I spent the day sewing; I am making another quilt top from the scraps that I bought from the seamstresses in town. It is very difficult to tell what it is going to look like when it is in bits and pieces.
Please keep the men in your prayers as they make their way back to their villages.
Have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
