We are back in Yendi. We got back around 3:00pm. On our way into town we stopped at Kulkpeni to see how the block making work was coming along and to leave the cement money with Timothy. The block makers think that they will be finished tomorrow. We will be happy to have that part of the project behind us.
We woke to the sound of rain this morning; we thought that the morning safari would be cancelled but the rain stopped and we had the most enjoyable cool safari that we have ever had! It was wonderful! We saw 9 elephants this morning and lots of antelope and warthogs. We still did not see the baboons or the monkeys.
After we ate our breakfast and were preparing to leave, the rain started again. Most of the time when it rains in Ghana it pours; we could not load the van until the rain slowed down. Fortunately it did not rain very long. We had a cooler than normal ride back to the mission house. As we were approaching Tamale it started to rain again. We stopped at Kentucky Fried Chicken for a late lunch and headed on to Yendi. The guys were pleasantly surprised at how good the food at KFC was. We had an uneventful trip back to Yendi. The guys were happy to get out of the car after 4 days of traveling!
We stopped and bought fresh bread off the street on our way back from Bible study tonight; peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were the snack before going to bed. No one complained! Who can resist fresh bread still warm from the oven?
Marcus taught the Bible class this evening; he talked about King Solomon. The lesson generated lots of questions.
We are retiring for the evening; we are tired.
Thank you for the prayers!

I am in heaven! Not only did my parents come home, they brought relatives with them! These guys are great! Oh! My! I already have them wrapped around my little finger! It did not take me but about 5 minutes to decide that my brother and nephew (Marcus and Evan) were fine folks. Now I have to admit that they were a little nasty from all that traveling and I had to groom both of them! Evan has a curly mop of hair on his head that needed a through going through and I had to work on Marcus’ eyebrows and facial hair! They reciprocated and scratched my every itch; I even taught them how to rub my belly! Life is good!
They not only gave me a bottle of juice but also a bottle of milk and numerous snacks and treats! It almost made it worthwhile for the parents to be gone because they brought home guests that will cater to my every whim!
I am one lucky monkey to have been adopted into this family!
Love, Skeeter
