We were back up at the GRA office shortly after they opened this morning. They were not able to do much for us even though they tried. The network was still down and they had not been able to figure out how to fix the problems we ran into yesterday much less the problems from today. They told us to go ahead and register and fill all the documents that we could fill and save them. We were to come back to the office after we finished. We went back about 10:30 and they were having a meeting. We went back at 2:00 and the network was still not up and running. We also found out that a couple of the employees did not have the same cell phone number as they did years ago when they were assigned a Tax ID number so new numbers need to be added to their files but guess what? That cannot be done unless the network is up and running. The guy took the names and phone numbers that needed to be added and he promised to fix the problem as soon as the network came back up. He told us he would call us when he had solved the problem. I told him we would stop back tomorrow! I don’t trust them to call us. Steve will help Tichak, the night watchman, fill out his returns when he comes to work this evening. That will only leave Nana Bekum and Daniel Batoln, a couple of the evangelists, to fill out theirs on Friday.
At least while we were out and about trying to get everyone signed up we got to see everyone and catch up on the goings on. Someone is building a huge house in Mr. Iddrisu’s neighborhood and Abochi, the carpenter that puts the roofs on the buildings that we have built is moving his small lumber company from the main road in town out to our area. He lives next to Mr. Iddrisu so he is not far from the mission house. He has put up a pole barn building next to his house. The rafters are up but he has not yet put on the tin roofing sheets.
Red stopped by this afternoon with the spice / condiment shelf; it looks good. He only put one side on it. We are going to have him add another side because I don’t want stuff to fall off the shelves. The cement floor is very unforgiving if anything drops on it. He said that he will spray it this afternoon and hopefully have it finished tomorrow.
It has been extremely hot! The high temperature today was 103 degrees with a heat index of 118 degrees. Maybe rain is in our future! Sure hope so. We have not gotten any rain to speak of for a couple weeks. The teak trees have huge leaves and the leaves are drooping.
Please keep us and the work in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
