The men that attended the monthly class were very happy to get the monetary gift to be able to buy corn for their families. After the class was over Steve distributed the money. Daniel, Timothy Niligrini’s brother stood up on behalf of the class to say thank you for the food money. He said that all their wives would be celebrating tonight because there would be food in the house. He went on to say, “Whenever you hear a cock crowing it is to remind you that we are saying “thank you” for the food!” Steve told them that we need to give God the glory and that he would pass their thanks on to all those that support the work and gave money to help the evangelists and church leaders!
Twenty-eight men attended the class this month. They reported that one new congregation has been established with 62 people being baptized. The other men reported that 17 others were baptized in various congregations and 3 were restored.
Steve was headed out the door this morning for class when Solomon the mechanic came to change the oil in the motor king and to see what was wrong with the bearings. Steve had to assist him with the tools he needed to do the work. It always amazes us that you would come to someone’s house to work on something and not bring any tools with you. It rained off and on during the night and it rained heavily this morning so the guys could not haul blocks today for fear of getting stuck. Solomon the mechanic told us that we should never ever overload the motor king if we wanted to save the new engine. We were under the impression that after the new motor was broken in we could haul full loads but obviously we cannot.
Donkey came to the mission house around 10:00 to feed Skeeter; he showed up late because it was raining. If we had waited that long to feed him he would have been very hungry!
Tichak, one of the night watchmen had an accident on his motorcycle and had to have 3 stitches in his leg. He said the place with the stitches was not what hurt him but it was his foot. He said his foot swells; we suspect he has broken a bone in his foot. He does not want to go to the hospital. He rode a motorcycle to the mission house today to pick up his pay packet. He has not come to work the past few days because of his injured leg. I asked him when he was going to come back to work and he said not until after the nurse took out the stitches. I told him that there was no reason he could not come to work if he could come and pick up his pay packet. He said that he could not ride his bicycle that far because his foot wants to swell up. I said that he had ridden a motorcycle today and if he could ride a motorcycle to get his pay he could ride it to come to work. He said he could not kick start the motorcycle. When he left the mission house I followed him to the gate to lock it behind him. He got on the motorcycle and guess what? He kick started it! I could not let that one pass! I called him out! “See you can kick start the motorcycle so you can come to work!” He quickly said that his motorcycle was a stronger one than the one he had borrowed today! I held up my hand and said, “You can come to work!” He laughed and drove away!
Take care and have a good week-end!

I was so excited to see Mom walk out of the house this morning with her umbrella. I had to look closely to make sure she was not going for a walk. She usually carries an umbrella on her walks to keep the sun off; she does not really like sunscreen. I was right; she was coming to rescue me from the rain and the cold weather. You know when it rains it gets bitterly cold! I sure was happy that she did not wait for the rain to stop before she rescued me or I would have been stuck in that cage for hours!
Our first job this morning was to clean off the dining room table. It was covered up with Mom’s sewing projects and scrap cutting mess. I helped her sort the scrapes into various sizes. At the beginning of the job I was not on the leash; I was able to run free! I love jumping from one piece of furniture to the other to see if there is anything I can get into or knock off! I love to climb to the top of the doors. Mom always has a dish of treats for me so I grab a treat, climb on top of the door to eat it. Every once in a while I would dive bomb the table and send the scraps flying every which way! Mom gave me several warnings which I did not heed! She even gave me an extra chance by getting the leash out and showing it to me but I still would not listen. I jumped on the table once too often; she grabbed me and put me on the leash!
Later in the morning Mom worked on the books and the receipts. That was a boring job today because I could not reach the receipts or the books so I lay down beside Mom and took a nap.
Please, someone outlaw leashes!
Love, Skeeter
