Zorash came today to make up one of the days she is going to be out in the next couple weeks.  We decided to have her help us clean the tool /storage room that is just off the master bedroom.  Originally it was supposed to be a sitting room but it is not air conditioned so we use it for tools and a catch all room.  It has not been cleaned since we left in June.  It is amazing how much better it looks.

Red has finished about a dozen of the tables for the churches to use for communion tables.  We want to start distributing them as soon as possible.  We are going to give the tables to the churches we visit as part of the gifts that we normally give.  We went to Red’s house and picked up a couple of the tables; he had spray painted them for us.  When we off loaded them we noticed that he had only painted the top side and left the underside rusty.  We were not happy with the paint job so we took them back to him.  He was in the process of spraying a couple of the other tables that he had made so it won’t be any big deal to spray the underneath side.  Fortunately the first table he made and painted he had painted the underneath side  so we took that one back to the mission house; it is loaded in the truck ready for our trip tomorrow.

Steve really wants to give the churches a table cloth of some sort to cover the tables.  Where to get a tablecloth to fit a small table is neigh unto impossible so once again we went to “Plan B”.  We went to a small shop that sells used curtains and bed sheets.  We were able to get 11 curtains and covers that will make nice tablecloths once they are cut to size and hemmed.  Isn’t it fortunate for Steve that he knows someone that can sew?  (Me!)

This morning when Nazo, the day man, came to work he brought 2 loaves of fresh bread with him.  He said that he had stopped at the old lady we always buy bread from last night on his way home from the palace to buy a loaf of bread and she sent 2 loaves of bread with him to give to us.  Isn’t that sweet?  This little old lady works from dawn until 10:00 or 12:00 at night trying to make a living selling bread and then she shares it with us!  People are so good to us!

The mother of the baby with the seriously deformed foot came today with the x-ray.  It has taken her this long to get the x-ray because the technician was out of the office.  We made a light box out of a copy paper box top and a small battery operated light so Steve could take pictures of the x-ray to send to the orthopedic specialist.  He thinks that the  bone is missing and there is not much that can be done except amputation.  He said that we were not to tell the parents until his team comes to Yendi and they can make a conclusive diagnosis.  They are planning to come to Yendi in January 2022.

Thank you so much for helping us with the work!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
