Red just left; he came to get the money he will need to make the metal doors, windows and metal frames for the cement pillars for the building we will be building next time we come to Ghana.  We have been expecting him all afternoon and wouldn’t you know he came at supper time.  It reminds me of those salesmen in the states that call right at suppertime.

We have no watchman tonight because Tichak is on holiday and tonight is one of Papa Zachariah’s nights off.  Steve is walking around the property turning on all the security lights.  There are at least 20 security lights that have to be turned on and off each night.  I wish we could rig up a main switch that would turn them all on at one time.

We told Red that Mr. Iddrisu was going to have cataract surgery on his eyes; he thought that was awful!  He could not imagine having surgery on his eyes.  He said, “Iddrisu is brave! Oh!”  He was surprised that they could do it at Yendi’s hospital.  We told him a team of surgeons would come and do all the surgeries that had been registered in a couple days.

Steve trimmed some of the bushes today; he always gets carried away when he gets out the pruners; we never know what will be left when he is finished!  He likes to keep the bushes cut to deter snakes and give the watchmen a clear view of the yard.

Mr. Iddrisu started painting the metal covers on the cistern and the downspouts that catch the water off the roof and feed the cistern.   He will have to give them a second coat of paint tomorrow.  At first we were painting them blue but then we changed to white because it makes them much cooler when we have to remove them.  We also bought red oil paint so he can paint the trim on the Child Center building.

This morning we got the minutes from the meeting we had on Monday with the workers typed up, edited and filed.  There is no way that we could include everything that was said at the meeting or the minutes would have been 10 pages long!

The Ghana government has contracted with the UK to get 70 armored vehicles to use in the northern part of Ghana; especially around the borders to keep the terrorists at bay.  Some of the countries north of Ghana have had some activity.  We are happy that Ghana is being proactive!

Thank you so much for everything you do for us and for the work; we really appreciate all your help.  Please continue to pray for us!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
