It is just a few minutes before 6:00 pm and it is almost dark; Divine, the evangelist just left the mission house.   He came to borrow the big tarps.  He is going to start harvesting his soybeans and he needs all the tarps that he can get his hands on.  We were happy to see him because we needed him to pick the topic he would like to speak on for the seminar so Steve can go ahead and start working on the schedule.  He told us that he had located a few large pigs.  We will need 3 large pigs or 5 small pigs.  He said that these pigs were big but he expects that they will want a big price for them.  The cost of everything is going up so it is to be expected that the price of pigs will be up too.

Twenty-five men attended the monthly class.  They were pleased with the shirts and ties and their gift of tires and tubes.  Steve spent a portion of the class passing out the invitations and deciding who would deliver invitations to which congregations.  He also started the new lesson on the woman’s responsibility in the home.

The work on the new building is coming right along.  This afternoon when we walked back to pay the day labors we were surprised that the foundation was so tall.  Dawda said the ground was unlevel and that is why he made it so tall.  The foundation has to be filled with gravel and the tall foundation just added 1,350 Cedis to the project that is about 135 dollars.  This is a waste; there is no reason it should be so high but there is nothing that we can do about it at this point!  You know how cheap I am; I want my money back!  Maybe we can cut a corner or two somewhere else.

Red helped with the work today; he made the rebar frames for the pillars and for the lintels over the doors and the beam.  We had him make these earlier in the year so we would have them paid for and ready for the project.  He made a mistake on his figures and we were short one frame for a pillar and one of the beams so he made part of them today and will finish them tomorrow.

In between answering the door, helping the workers and cooking I was able to get a little bit of sewing down today.  This is my second week to work on this      quilt top; I had hoped to finish it this week but it is not going to happen.  Maybe I can finish it next week.

Thank you for all you do!  We appreciate you!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
