I was glad I had gotten the truck and supplies ready last night for our trip this morning because at 8:15 this morning we had a guest; Shaibu Adams.  Timothy was to meet us here at the compound between 8:30 and 8:45. It has been a while since Shaibu had visited us.  This time he was trying to find some dollars to exchange for Cedis for one of his kid’s college tuition.  We had to decline his request because the government doesn’t allow money to be exchanged unless you are doing it through a bank or a licensed Forex Exchange Bureau.

Timothy arrived at 8:45 but we were not able to get away for another 15 minutes.  Timothy was surprised when he saw the metal table I had roped down in the back of the pickup we had made to give to the congregations. When we arrived at Bakpaba the members were slow in coming; it gave us a little time to greet the members and for me to ask what subject they would like me to cover for the lesson.  They wanted a lesson to address why some people are said to be predestined to be in good health or sickly and poor or rich. This is the first time anyone has asked for me to speak on that subject.  It is difficult in this culture to understand why some people are sickly and some are poor. Some think it is the will of God that “you are what you are” and you can’t do anything about it.

You know with that kind of lesson subject we had a very interesting question and answer period after services.  I presented the congregation with the new metal communion table with a table cloth and a lace covering for the communion trays. The congregation has been working to get some windows for their new building so we presented the church with 2,000.00 GH Cedis ($330) to go along with their money to help purchase the windows and gates for the building. The congregation wanted to thank me but I told them to thank God for our supporters that provide us money to help the Churches and they said “Amen”.

The church requested prayer for their chief who is sick in his house.  We don’t know what his problem is but we were glad to accommodate.  As we were walking toward the truck one old widow lady was entreating Timothy to plead on her behalf to me because she wasn’t feeling good and had no money for medicine.  I gave her some money so she could buy her medicine.

We now have 15 metal tables stored in the garage for us to distribute to the congregations we work with.  More will be forthcoming.

Our bible class discussion tonight at Kulkpeni started out with a question about the rich not giving to the poor. A few thought if a poor man asks for whatever he needs a richer person should automatically give it to the poor man. If the rich person doesn’t give it, that is justification for stealing it from the person.  It was a very lively discussion!!!

That’s it for today.  Hope you had a good day! May God bless.

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
