We were able to sleep in this morning which was wonderful because of the jet lag.  We had a few places we needed to go so we hired a taxi by the hour.  He took us where we wanted to go and then waited for us in the taxi.  It was very much like having a private car.  The taxi also gave us a place to keep the things that we bought so we did not have to haul everything around with us.

One of the things we had to do was buy the plane tickets for our flight up to Tamale.  My dental appointment is Monday so we will fly to Tamale on Tuesday.  I also had a pair of earrings that needed to be repaired so I took them to the jewelry store.  The gold smith will not be in until Monday but will do the repair when he gets in.  The jewelry store is run by a Lebanese family but they hire a Ghanaian gold smith.

Of course I also went to the cultural center to do some shopping but I was sorely disappointed with my shopping experience.  We do not usually shop on Saturday and the market was full of expatriates today.  Many visitors to Ghana do not realize that the market does not have fixed prices and you have to dicker for a better price.  When there are lots of visitors in the market the prices automatically go up and this makes me have to work harder to get a decent price!  Ha!

By the time we were ready to go back to the hotel it was after 3:00 and we had not had lunch so the last stop the taxi driver made was at the Chinese restaurant.  We had a delicious lupper; you know that meal between lunch and supper.

Hope you have a great day!
