Hello it’s me again, Taylor. I am once again writing the Yendi Notes. Not a whole lot has happened today. We woke up and then we ate breakfast. After we cleaned up the kitchen, dad, Kandie, and me all worked on finances and finding how much money was left. It wasn’t fun but we had to do it. I was in charge of typing in numbers on the calculator for Kandie. Then she wanted me to go through all of the visits for this year and count how many different types of babies were seen, like if they had a disability, or were malnourished, things like that. Luckily, we only did that for thirty minutes or so.
After that, Kandie, Steve, and dad taught me how to ride a motorcycle. They tried to teach me yesterday, but I gave it too much gas and I popped the clutch. This combination of terrible decisions flew me off the bike. I’m glad I had my helmet on though. My arm was sore from landing on it, and I tore a hole through my blue jeans, and got a deep scratch on my leg. But other than that I was okay and I wanted to get back on and try again. But when the bike hit the ground, it disconnected a part of the throttle, and slightly bent the steering handle. So we had to send the bike to a repair shop this morning, but after an hour or two, they sent it back and it worked so well that you would have never thought that it flew a 16 year old off it. So I got back on it today and I finally got it right after about thirty minutes of practice. Since then, I have been driving it around the property.
After we ate lunch, we all went to the market. It was cool to look at but it was very busy. However, Their most busy day will be this Monday. Everyone is crammed into small hallways. The little kids followed us from the time we got there, till the time we left. They kept asking us “Saminga, where are you going?” Saminga means “white person”.
Now we are at the mission house getting ready to eat supper. Like I said, not a lot has happened today, but it is still fun to go places and see what life is like outside the States. Once again from all of us we thank you for your donations, contributions, and your prayers.
