Tomorrow is a holiday; the Child Center is not open on Friday so Meri and Amama took today off for their holiday. Zorash owed us a couple days so she came to work today. Mr. Iddrisu borrowed money to buy corn for his house so he has lots of days to pay back. Donkey (Nazo) borrowed money for his son so he could go to Accra to have a medical exam to satisfy part of the requirements to enter the police academy; he has lots of days to pay back but he did not want to sacrifice his holiday. If the truth be known they are probably doing something special at the palace and he did not want to miss it.
Steve spent a large portion of the afternoon working on the security lights. Many of the bulbs needed to be replaced and some of them had electrical faults. The lights do not like all this rain.
Nana Bekum, one of the evangelists, called this morning and said that everything was calm in his area; this is one of the areas that had a tribal dispute earlier in the year. Many of the tribal disputes get put on hold during the rainy season because everyone is preoccupied with farming.
First thing this morning we went to town in search of herbicide so Donkey (Nazo) could finish spraying around the wall and the lane that leads to the back of the property. At least it was cooler today because we had lots of storm clouds. We only got a drizzle but someone got a heavy rain.
Steve finished unpacking the suitcases and tubs. We are missing Bible lessons, boys’
clothes and part of the special food items we packed. So far we have not missed anything
that we cannot do without.
My tooth is feeling wonderful today; no pain; not even when I bite down on it. Isn’t modern medicine wonderful? The stitches will stay in until Sunday but I don’t even know they are there.
Steve talked to Timothy Niligrini today and got the schedule of churches that we will be visiting this month. Timothy said that he made out the schedule when the men came for the monthly class in July. He is a good egg!
Take care and please keep us and the work in your prayers.
In HIS Service,
Steve and Kandie
