We made it safely to Tamale.  We had to come to Tamale today because we had paperwork that needed to be signed at the Registrar’s office.  We were finally able to use the signature stamps that we had the elders make and send in with Marcus and Taylor.  We had to wait for quite a while before the officer got back from his break before we could begin the process.  Of course we are not finished but we will pick it up again when we get back to Yendi after our time in the states.

We stayed up late last night and got up early this morning.  Steve said that he was afraid that we were not going to be able to leave Yendi by noon but after an early lunch of leftovers we left on time. Marcus and Taylor were a big help!   Marcus finished entering the receipts for us so the books would be up to date when we left.

Amama was late for work because someone in her area died and she had to put in an appearance with the family.  Meri was also late but I never had time to ask why she was late.  Because they were late, Zorash got the lion’s portion of the food stuff that we gave away when we cleaned out the refrigerator.  She was well paid for the extra hard work she put in this morning cleaning, washing and covering up the stuff that we did not want to get dusty while we were gone.

Mr. Iddrisu made it to the bank and successfully deposited the extra money.  He also got the paperwork ready and paid 3 months ahead for the Social Security tax.  We were very happy when we found out that we could pay the tax in advance.

I am not sure if I told you or not but the very malnourished 9 month old that only weighed 1 kilo (2.2 pounds) that we went to visit at his home came back to the Child Center and the little guy had gained almost 2 pounds!  We were so excited!  Everyone one was excited!  The little guy even had enough strength that he reached up and snatched the rice that another child was eating!  He obviously wants to live!  His name is Yussif.

Please keep us in your prayers as we fly to Accra and continue our trip home to the wonderful United States!

In His service,

Steve, Kandie, Marcus and Taylor
