Kandie, Timothy, and I visited the congregation at Borido this morning. Borido is east of Yendi ; travel time is approximately 30 minutes. After I untied the metal table in the back of the pickup Brother Foster took it and headed for the building. Their doors are smaller than most of the church buildings which made it difficult to get it through the doorway but with some major maneuvering they were successful. The people were very pleased with the gifts we brought; especially the table and table cloths.
The church building is small and the sun was shining bright today. The combination made for a hot, stuffy room. I took that into consideration by shortening my lesson. The leadership asked me to speak on church attendance. There were 47 people present today; 7 men, 8 women, and the rest were children.
After a short question and answer period we were very glad to hear that three young women requested to be baptized . Another sister spoke on behalf of the women of the church asking for help to rework a borehole (well) that had stopped working. The men are going to get an estimate of the cost for the repairs before we agree to help .
The pickup was loaded down with people as we drove down the road to the nearest water hole for the baptisms. The group started singing as we went. After the baptisms we prayed, committing the three into the Lord’s care and hauled everyone back to the building. The chief was at home so we greeted him and chatted for a few minutes before we left. (Most of the villagers at the chief’s house were not wearing masks.)
This afternoon our friend Red came by to show us the stairs he is working on and to make sure his measurements were correct.
At Kulkpeni tonight there were 7 children that attended; I finished the last apostle. These are mostly children that are 4-5 years old. They were able to do a good job reciting the names of all the original apostles. They were proud of themselves!
Thanks for letting us come into your life today. Thanks for your support and thanks for your prayers. Have a good day! May God bless.
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
