The young mother of the twins that we sent to Tamale is going to be discharged from the hospital in Tamale today. Before they will let her come home they had to do another upper and lower scan and she had to pay for the medicine that they used while she was in the hospital. Thanks to your generous donations for “Whatever Comes Up” we were able to help her pay the medical bills. They are sending her home with medicine. No one knows what type medicine they gave her. Maybe we will know more when she gets back to Yendi.
We are in Tamale again. I thought that we were never going to get here. We left shortly before 1:00 and were about 10 miles out of Yendi when Steve realized that he forgot his money and driver’s license so we headed back to Yendi. While he was getting his money he found the sunglasses that he had lost earlier in the day. It did not take him long to retrieve the items and we were on our way again. We were almost half way to Tamale when Steve realized that we did not have the passports! Please! We could not proceed without the passports because the most important thing we have to do in Tamale is to take the passports to the officer in charge of our Non-citizen card renewal. We turned around and headed back to Yendi. By the time we got to the mission house we could have been in Tamale. I ran in and got the passports while Steve turned the van around. “On the road again! Can’t wait to get on the road again!” We made it to Tamale in time to go to the Social Welfare office before it closed and pick up the forms we have to fill out to renew the Child Center’s annual renewal. The other offices we needed to visit were closed so we went to a supermarket and did a little shopping before we headed to the hotel.
We have an appointment with Japan Motors in the morning to get the oil and filters changed in the van. We will be the first people at Japan Motors in the morning and hopefully the first people at the bank. We have to pay for the Non-Citizen cards before we can go to the office and have them renewed.
We also want to go to the Land’s Commission office and see how they are coming along with the 50 year lease on the mission property. We are not holding our breath on that one. Last time we were in Tamale we saw a nice tall step ladder. We could not buy it because we were in the truck that has a cab covering the bed so we had no means of carrying it. But today we are in the van and it has a full luggage rack on the top; maybe we will go back to Yendi with a new ladder!
Thank you for all you do for us and please keep us in your prayers as we travel; you can see from today’s notes that we need all the prayers we can get!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
