After worship this morning we headed back to the cultural center to cover the ground we didn’t walk on yesterday. I will have to admit the weather has been much more pleasant because of the cloud cover rolling in from the ocean.  The cultural center is several hundred yards from the seashore and there is usually a nice breeze blowing and today fit the description.

As some of you are already aware, we like to shop for items that we give as gifts. There isn’t a lot of opportunity to do this shopping so we take advantage of the time to do so whenever possible.  Accra is a 15-17 hour drive from Yendi depending on the traffic or the road blocks; that’s why we like to fly and save wear and tear on our bodies.

At one of the kiosk’s they were making and selling the folding cloth fans that everyone back home  loves. I spied a solid black fan that I liked so Kandie asked the young guy the price; 30 Ghana Cedis  =$2.66 ). Kandie hemmed and hawed about the price.  This caused the guy to say “if we bought 10 fans he could sell them to us for 20 Cedis each”.  That’s all it took so we searched his small inventory of fans to find 9 more that we liked. You know this made the guy a happy camper!

After our shopping we returned to the apartment (hotel) and went back out to get something to eat. We ate at a small Korean restaurant. Kandie enjoyed her Kimchi.  After our meal we started walking down the street towards a bakery named “Frankies” .  I noticed a crippled man on crutches on the opposite side of the road. We had just crossed the small side street intersection when this man on crutches fell face first into the road. I looked around and no cars were coming. The man still had his face planted in the blacktop so I walked over to him to help. He raised his head and his eyes were bloodshot and he appeared to be as drunk as a skunk. No matter, I still positioned myself not to get any blood on me from the small scraps as I lifted him up and Kandie helped me to get the crutches under him .  That was our good deed for the day.

We appreciate your interest in the work and wish all of you a good Lord’s Day! Please feel free to email us. We are never too busy to write or answer any question you might have. God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
