We sat in the office at the computers almost all day!  It is about to be the end of the month so we started entering receipts, sorting receipts and trying to make sure that we pulled all the receipts that we have to pay withholding tax on.  I am sad to say that we did not get the books finished today.  We got the bulk of the receipts entered but we still have to do the books for the Child Center.  Boring!  I would rather be sewing!

We took a break late this afternoon so we could pick up mangoes and take them to town to distribute.  We gave some to Aliu, a young man that lost his leg in a vehicle accident.  Thanks to your generous support we were able to help him get an artificial leg.  He wears the leg faithfully and he has a small business fixing cell phones.  We also took a box to the pharmacist that supplies the Child Center.  We tried to take some to Abochi, the guy that orders the formula for us but he has not been in his shop the past 2 days.  Of course we passed them out to the children along the way.

Divine has been helping one of the candidates for Member of Parliament with their campaign.  The candidate is a lady and she gave Divine a 32 inch flat screen TV for helping with her campaign.  Divine lives in a village that does not have electricity so the television is of no use to him.  He thought that we would buy it from him but we are not in need of a TV.  He brought it to the mission house and asked us to try to sell it for him.  He said that if he leaves it in the village the children will ruin it.  Well, we don’t want to keep it here either.  We told him that we would ask the workers if they wanted to buy it but we doubt that anyone will buy it because the price he is asking is 500 Cedis more than one can be purchased in Yendi.  One could be bought even cheaper in Tamale.  He might be able to sell it if he would agree to sell it on time (credit).  Credit has taken Ghana by storm!  Zorash even buys her 50 pound bags of rice on credit.

While we were in town Steve stopped and bought a grilled guinea fowl for supper.  He also needed to buy units for his cell phone.  He bought some but before we left town the vendor called and said that the network was bad and the purchase did not go through.  He told Steve that he should come back and he would give him his money back.  Now that is a first!  Usually the vendors want to wait and see if the network comes back on so they don’t miss a sale.  Steve told him he would be back tomorrow and try again.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
