It rained off and on last night with some sprinkles this morning accompanied by gray cloud cover.  Timothy Niligrini was to meet us here at the compound at 9am. He arrived at 9:10.  I suspected he wouldn’t be on time because the people follow the sun to tell time here.

The village we visited this morning was Nakpaachee, on the Bimbila Road south of Yendi.  There were five of us on this trip; Timothy, Marcus, Taylor, Kandie, and myself. As soon as we arrived Bro. Supa, one of the leaders, suggested we go see the chief of the village while the people gathered for worship.  At the chief’s house Kandie asked to take the Chief’s photo as well as photos of his Juju items that hung in his throne room.  We heard a goat bleating in the compound and Kandie was rubbernecking to see what was going on. She asked the chief if she could take a photo slaughtering the goat but he declined her request. The men were making a sacrifice with the goat and the chief said if she took a photo of the sacrifice it would do away with its power or ruin her camera.  Kandie bemoaned the fact she didn’t get the photo!

At the services Taylor taught the lesson for bible class while Marcus preached the sermon.  There were 54 present for the service. I was proud to introduce Marcus and Taylor to the audience. The children loved getting their crochet hats after services!  Marcus took a photo of the kids wearing their hats.

For lunch we had pizzas.  The guys had brought the premade crusts in with them so we enjoyed a different meal than we usually have.  I know Taylor enjoyed them.  Kandie and I worked on packing our luggage for our trip home this coming weekend. Kandie and Marcus worked on counting the charts for the annual Social Welfare report.  Yesterday Marcus set up an excel spreadsheet to help with the annual Child Center audit. This will be a great help!

This evening at bible study at Kulkpeni Taylor taught his lesson about Jonah. It was a good class with lots of questions.

That wraps it up for this Lord’s Day. Hope you had a good day and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen, Kandie, Marcus, and Taylor
