We are in Tamale; we just finished eating a lovely Indian meal. We adore Indian food and the folks that run the hotel that we stay in are Indians; the lady is such a good cook! Of course we over ate and are a bit miserable!
Steve wanted to come to Tamale to run a few errands and do a little shopping so we decided to spend the night and we could have a full day to run around tomorrow. One of the things that was on our list was to pick up the audit for the Eldership that the auditor was preparing before we left in May. Steve called the office to see if the accountant would be around only to find out that the audit was not necessary because the company was a new company and they do not require an audit until the end of this year. Please, all the money and aggravation was for nothing! One would think that the auditor would know these things.
We also need to buy brooms for Donkey; one of his jobs is to keep the leaves cleaned up out of the yard. We can buy brooms in Yendi but they are not a very good quality and Donkey prefers the ones from Tamale. These brooms are hand made from the veins of certain palm trees. They are made in the southern part of Ghana and shipped up here. They are difficult to find so when Steve found them today he bought all the lady had; she was happy with the sale.
Tomorrow we will check to see if they have printed Konkomba Bibles. It is going on 2 years since we have been able to buy them.
Did I tell you that Tamale’s new International airport is now open? When we flew into Tamale this time we used the new airport. It is very nice. When we came in it had only been open for 4 days. Africa World Airlines (AWA), the airline that we usually use when we fly to Tamale moved their office out to the new airport. The airport is about 30 minutes on the other side of Tamale. This is not very convenient for us when we want to buy tickets. We went to the airport this afternoon to check on our tickets to fly out in December. We had already bought the tickets but we needed to go down to Accra a day early. They changed the date on the ticket without a penalty for which we were grateful. We got a phone number from the AWA office so that next time we need to make a change or have a problem we will be able to call someone instead of driving to the airport.
Sleep well; it is almost bedtime for us.
In HIS Service,
Steve and Kandie
