We had planned on starting our VBS program today at Kpamang. Unfortunately, they had to cancel due to a funeral. The preacher’s brother passed away and several members of the church were traveling with him for the funeral. That gave us the opportunity to get a lot of chores done around the mission house.

After breakfast, Marcus and Evan moved a large pile of firewood to the round house on the back of the property.  Kandie did laundry and Marcus and Evan hauled the water from the washing machine out into the front yard to water the plants and trees around the compound, and Steve wrote the monthly report.  It was extremely hot today.  The temperature was 112 degrees with a heat index of 117 degrees.

Kandie and Evan fixed a wonderful supper, we had hamburgers and fried okra! Evan is working on his school work this evening and Skeeter is walking on my back as I write LOL. Ghana is a wild place!

Please keep us in your prayers as we will be traveling for VBS tomorrow at Kpamang and then traveling to Nandundo for night preaching!

Thank you for all of your prayers and support,

The Monkeyshines

I did not bite anyone yesterday because it was Sunday and I was trying to be especially good!  Actually I did not get anyone because I barely saw anyone!  The parents and my uncle and nephew left for the village early in the morning and did not come back till the afternoon; they ate lunch and then everyone retired to their rooms.  Mom took me with her.  I napped on Dad while Mom sewed.

I almost did not bite anyone today; Mom did a good job of keeping me on a short leash.  I got to play outside first thing this morning and then they washed clothes.  Mom would not let me outside while the clothes were drying; she was afraid that I might pull the clothes off the line.  Now where in the world would she get an idea like that?

When Evan came to help Mom fix lunch I climbed up on him and we had a grand time; I did not try to bite him and he did not try to bite me!  I am such a funny monkey!  Evan did not try to pick up anything which made me very happy!

My only small indiscretion was this evening when Evan came to the parent’s bedroom.  He did not realize that we had a waterbed; he had never been on a water bed before; he thought it was pretty cool.  He stretched out on the bed and I climbed up on his chest and tried to pry his eye open.  I thought he was a bit nasty so I groomed his hair.  The problem came when he got up off the waterbed; he picked up the pillow and I lunged for him.  I did not break the skin or make a bruise; he moved quickly.

Mom found a new way to torture me!  She has a small spray bottle that she uses to mist her fabric when she is ironing.  Today when I was playing too rough with Dad she would reach over and mist me!  I did not like that one little bit but it got my attention and I stopped in my tracks!

What will she think of next; one of those super soaker water guns?
