Steve got a new weather station which I do not like.  This one said to put the sensor in the shade under a large tree.  Everyone knows that it is cooler in the shade than standing in the sun.  It is probably 4 to 5 degrees cooler in the shade.  Otherwise there would be no reason to seek out the shade on a blistering hot day.  I said all that if I tell you the high temperature I will tell you if it was in the shade or not.  The only thing that still works on the old weather station is the temperature and the heat index which is all I really care about.  The high temperature in the shade today was 105 degrees and the heat not in the shade was 107 degrees with a heat index of 119 degrees.  Steve said that the station is still learning and that it is supposed to keep learning and become more accurate over the next 14 days.  Really!  Today it is flashing “Thunderstorms”!  It has a lot of learning to do to figure out that we are in the middle of the dry season and we have not had any rain since October of last year.  Maybe the station knows something we do not know; we would be thrilled with a lovely cooling rain!

Steve sent the disaster relief money to Nana this afternoon.   He is going to distribute it to those families that were burned out during the recent conflict.  The area with the conflict is north of Yendi about 2.5-3 hours depending on road conditions.

Super, the church leader from Nakpachee, came to the mission house this afternoon.  He brought the church’s paperwork.  Almost everyone has brought their documents; we are still waiting on 2 of the churches.

Steve got the flat tire on the green truck repaired.  It is amazing how many flat tires we have.  This is the second one we have had since we got here 2 weeks ago.  There is junk all over the roads.  When Steve and I walk in the mornings we keep an eye out for nails, screws, nuts, washer and bolts along the road.  If it is something we can use Steve puts it in his pocket but if it is something that will cause a flat tire he kicks it off into the bushes along the road.

Enjoy your day!

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
