We are in Tamale again! And no, we did not come over here to get our paper work for the lease on the land! That government department is still on strike so we will probably not get the documents any time soon but we are going to stop by the office tomorrow just to check and see what is going on; mostly we are just making our presences known! Ha!
We had to come to renew the liability insurance on the mission property and to renew our Ghanaian driver’s licenses. I got my first Ghanaian driver’s license when I was 19 years old; the date of first issue of my license was 1974. That seems like a very long time ago.
We also need tires for the green truck and the newer red truck. Steve found some for the green truck but they are going to have to send the tires for the red truck up from Kumasi. They are supposed to be here by 10:00 tomorrow. We would like to get them put on the truck and have them balanced and aligned before we leave for Yendi tomorrow. These roads are so rough that they won’t stay balanced or aligned very long but at least we are doing what we can.
We are having a very hard time finding the ink cartridges for the scanner/printer that we use in the office. We have not found either black or color cartridges since we have been in Ghana this time. We decided to open the scanner/printer we bought a couple years ago when we were in Accra during Covid when we had to print special codes to prove we had taken the Covid test. We were hopeful that we could find the ink cartridges for that new printer. We found color cartridges for it but no black. We will look around again tomorrow to see if we have any better luck.
It is also time to have the red truck serviced; we have an appointment for servicing tomorrow. It is always a 3 hour affair so we will have to go to the bank and do the rest of our business with the assistance of a taxi. Not my idea of fun; especially when we are shopping! It will not deter me from my shopping spree!
We are looking forward to a lovely meal at the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel.
Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo both came back to work this morning but they were not scheduled to come back until tomorrow so we sent them back home.
Take care and have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
