We spent the majority of the day closing up the house, covering bookcases, pots and pans and anything of value that we did not want to be covered with dust when we get back.  We also cleaned out the small refrigerator and put everything in the big fridge so that we only have to run one while we are gone.  We have almost everything checked off our “To Do List!”

We are happy to announce that “our bags are packed and we are ready to go!”  If I remember correctly, way back when there was a song that had those lyrics and something about “the taxi waiting at the door.”

We did not cook for supper; we went to town and bought a guinea fowl.  Steve spied the mangos; he loves mangos!  These are the big hybrid mangos; he wanted to buy 2 but he settled for one.

Red called late this afternoon and said, “Sister Kandie, Problem! Problem!”  There is always a language barrier when we talk to him on the phone.  I asked what the problem was and he launched off into someone who needed him to haul sand and he could not get hold of them and something about his dump truck!  I was sick because I thought he was telling us that he had to haul sand tomorrow and could not drive us to Tamale to the airport.  We told him that we were headed to town and would stop by and talk to him.  The actual problem was that the guy had contracted for a load of sand and he could not get hold of the man so he would know where to dump it.  He said he could not leave the sand on his truck and he was trying to find someone to buy the sand today.  He wanted to know if we would buy the sand for the next building project!  We bought the sand.

Zorash worked this afternoon to make up for one of her off days.  She spent the afternoon cutting fabric scraps into usable blocks.  We really did not have any actual work for her to do and she is perfectly happy cutting scraps.

Meri said that her son Aliu, the one that is in the hospital in Tamale partially paralyzed, is now able to sit up.  I don’t think he can sit up by himself but he can sit with assistance; we will take all the baby steps we can get.

We will let you know when we arrive in Accra.  Keep us in your prayers as we travel.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
