Steve finished the monthly report and I got it edited today. It is funny that we always intend to get it out on the first couple days of the month but it never seems to quite work out the way we intend. Steve actually started the report the last day of September.
We got word last night that the surgeon who was doing the reconstruction surgery on the intersex child had to stop during the surgery to reevaluate things. He said that they needed to do future testing before they actually did the surgery because the surgery is forever and they did not want to make any mistakes. It will take a while to get the test back; the last batch of tests were sent to India. We applaud the doctor for taking extra care with this case. The family will probably need additional assistance for the test and another hospital stay.
When Amama came to work on Thursday she was sick; she could not breathe and she was coughing. I told her that we did not want to get her sickness and I gave her bleach to put in the water when she washed the dishes. When I came back in the kitchen to give her some Ibuprofen she was wearing a face mask. Let me tell you we appreciated her consideration. We are trying to get the workers to understand how sickness is spread and it is difficult because of their communal lifestyle but slowly I think we are making some headway.
The brothers from Nalongni have not come to get the metal doors for the church. Steve called Timothy this morning and asked him to call the church leader so he can organize a way to transport them to the village. They usually come in pairs on a motorcycle. One man drives and the other holds the doors; these are double doors so I am not sure if they will be able to carry them on a motorcycle. They might have to hire a motor king to transport them.
It rained lightly most of the night and it was still drizzling when Mr. Iddrisu came to work this morning. He could not work in the back field until it stopped raining so he filled the small containers with PPP (Peanut Protein Paste) while he waited for the rain to stop. He also put the labels on the PPP and packed them in boxes.
Hope that you are having a good week-end.
In HIS Service,
Steve and Kandie
