We are back in Ghana.  We arrived a couple hours ago.  We had a good flight.  All of our documents were in order and our Covid test was accepted.  The test cannot be performed more than 72 hours before the flight.  That regulation was a little tricky for us this time because we left on Monday and many of the clinics and testing facilities  were not open on the weekend.  We found one that was open on Saturday in Birmingham.  We got the last appointment for the day on Friday.  It took us a couple hours to get to Birmingham but they sent our test results by email so we did not have to make a return trip to Birmingham to get the results.  We changed our tickets so we flew out at noon on Friday to give a few more hours to accommodate the 72 hour requirement.

Once we got into Ghana we had to have a rapid Covid test before we were free to leave the airport.  By the time we claimed our luggage and got through customs the test results were ready for us.  They had a pretty good set up.  They put a barcode on the sample and one to match it on the back of our passport.  When the tests were ready the barcode was scanned and we were given a paper copy of our report.

When we exited the airport one of Bismark’s drivers was waiting for us with a van to take us to the hotel / apartment.  Bismark has a fleet of vehicles and he hires them out to take people to and from the airport.  When we fly to Tamale instead of having Red come pick us up we use Bismark’s service.  He is such a sweet guy and takes very good care of us.  If Bismark is not free to drive us he sends one of his drivers.

Before we came to the apartment we stopped by one of the larger shopping centers and bought some food and changed money at the forex (foreign exchange bureau).

When Steve talked to Mr. Iddrisu he said that Papa Zachariah’s first wife died a few days ago.  Tomorrow Steve will send some money to him over the cell phone line.

We are pooped and plan on making an early night of it.  Thank you for all the prayers that were offered up on or behalf.  Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
