Tichak, the watchman did not have any luck getting his brother’s son discharged from the hospital.  The staff at the hospital would not let them take him out of the hospital.  They still will not tell them what is wrong with the boy.  Tichak said that he is on oxygen which might indicate that he has Covid but that is just a guess.  After they told Tichak that he could not take the boy home he asked if he could take him back to Yendi hospital but they refused that request too.  We are not sure how to help especially if there is no diagnosis.

Steve spent the morning writing up the monthly report.  I will edit it after I finish writing the Yendi notes.  I spent most of the day editing the minutes of the past few Child Center meetings.  Boring!

We thought we were going to get some rain last night.  The sky was dark and the wind was blowing but all we got was a dust storm.  This morning we talked to Nazo and he said that they got heavy rains over in Tatale last night.  Tatale is a couple hours away from us so maybe our rain is on the way!  Sure hope so!

I had another “vinegar” experience!  I had several small bottles of white vinegar that I wanted to combine into one larger bottle so they did not take up so much room in the cupboard so I poured them all into one of the large water bottles.  I was in the process of getting a Sharpie marker to write “vinegar” on the side and top of the bottle when I got side tracked and got busy doing something else.  Steve did not know that I had put vinegar in the bottle; he thought that it was filtered water.  He put it in the refrigerator.  I pulled the bottle out of the refrigerator and took a big slug of it!  It was awful; it is surprising to me that you can drink that much before you realize that it is not water!  I have had my quota of vinegar for the day!  At least I did not strangle on it this time.  Ha!

The mangos are almost gone!  The workers are sad that there are no more mangos to enjoy.  This year the mango trees produced bushels and bushels of mangos.  There is one big mango in the front yard and several big ones down by the Child Center.  The big hybrid mangos have started coming to Yendi from down near Kintampo; Steve has been enjoying them.  He is not a fan of the small mangos that grow on the trees in the mission house.

Take care and have a great day!  Keep us in your prayers especially for rain.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
