We are sitting in the airport waiting to board our flight to JFK in New York.  We have been here for about an hour and we still have 3 more hours to wait.  The problem with this airport is that there are very few shops and only a couple of snack bars and a couple drinking bars!

We decided that when we went for our walk this morning we would walk toward the hospital where we were going to get our Covid test.  The plan was to walk for ½ an hour and then catch a taxi the rest of the way.  Well, all the taxis that we saw were full.  We ended up walking all the way; it was about 1 ½ miles to the place.  It did not take long for them to take the test.  We paid for the 4 hour test.  We were supposed to go back at noon to get the results so we left at 10:00 because I had seen a small carvers’ village yesterday and I wanted to check it out and see if they had anything I needed.  They did not; there were only a handful of vendors; all in all it was a disappointing experience!  We had about an hour and half to kill before we could pick up the results of the tests so we decided to have an early lunch.  We were very close to the Palace Chinese Restaurant so that is where we had lunch.  It was delicious.

After lunch we picked up our test results only to realize that they had misspelled both of our names.  We had to wait for them to reprint the test results.  Steve asked them if they sent the results to our email and they assured us that they had.  When we got back to the hotel and opened the computer the results were nowhere to be found.  We needed them on the computer because the results had to be uploaded to our health declaration that is required for entry into the United States.  Steve called the hospital and he had to text them the email address and waited for the results to be sent.  It did not take long to get them and Steve was able to finish the health declarations.

Ghana’s Covid numbers are going up again.  The guy that did our test said that yesterday their clinic had 60 positive cases.

We have a long journey ahead of us; if all goes as planned we will arrive in Huntsville tomorrow evening at 5:15.   Thank you for the prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
