The child that had the doctors who are trying to determine the sex of was discharged from the hospital today.  The doctor said that it would be 2 weeks before the pathology report on the biopsy that they took would come back and they can make a better decision on how to move forward with this case.  Our hearts go out to the family and to the child!  The child is 5 years old.  These types of surgeries are typically done between 6 months and 1 year.

Donkey said that his wife was feeling much better and that the medicine I gave her is helping; I just gave her some Naproxen Sodium but if you are not used to taking anything for your joint pain I bet Naproxen Sodium makes you feel really good!

A very malnourished orphan came to the Child Center this morning.  She was 13 months old and weighed 4.9 Kilos which is (10 3/4 pounds).  She had been in the hospital last week with malaria and anemia; the father donated blood and the family said that she was doing better than she was when she was admitted to the hospital.  Now the baby is refusing to eat.  We see this quite often when babies are discharged; they have been forced to take so much medicine that when they see a spoon or cup coming toward them they think it is medicine and they will clamp their mouths’ shut!  We worked with her for a while; we figured out that she recognized the clear bagged water sachet and would drink from the water bag so we mixed up Cerelac (cereal and formula) and put it in the empty water bag.  It worked!  She drank the cereal out of the water bag; the child’s father and the grandmother were so happy!  We sent clear bags home with them so they will be able to feed her porridge and Cerelac from the bags.  Hopefully once she figures out that food is food and not medicine she will eat other things.

Steve called Red this morning so that he could come get the church sign board and put new legs on it.  While he was here he asked him if he could put new handles on some of the metal head pans that the masons use when they are working on the mission property.  He also picked up the corn roaster (it is made out of an old hot water heater).  He is trying to motorize it for us.  He had a hard time finding the pulleys so that he could gear down the motor.  He said that he has some that he thinks will work.  I told him that all he had to do was find a sewing machine foot pedal and hook it up to the motor and we could control the speed with the foot pedal.  That is how we hooked a washing machine motor up to my serger sewing machine.  We will have to go to the sewing machine mechanic and buy a foot pedal.  Red thought that was a good idea.

Thank you for the love, prayers and support!  We appreciate all you do for us!
