We felt an increasing reluctance to go to the villages due to the Coronavirus.  Ghana’s Corona numbers have started going up again.  The villagers just do not realize the threat the virus poses.  Timothy was still not feeling his old self; he found it difficult to ride his motorcycle.

The building project on the back part of the property was finished and it looks very good.  This building was put up so as to satisfy the requirements for developing the property.

The church leader from Bagjon and 2 members came to tell us that a long time church member had died and to invite us to help with the funeral.  We helped them with financial support for the burial. The death occurred on Ghana’s Presidential Election Day so the body was stored in Yendi’s morgue.  This was the first time Kandie and I have been in Ghana during the elections; for the most part the election was carried out calmly.

We are happy that the toilets we contracted to be built for Timothy and Tichak have been finished.  The men are excited that they have their own outhouses on their own property.  Life’s simple pleasures are the best!

We were able to get the remaining leaders to come in to renewal the church registrations before we left.  That is very important because it helps the churches retain their autonomy.  Divine will take care of getting the paper work to Tamale.

Two brothers from the Saboba area came by the house that had not received their two tires and two tubes for their bicycles; these men were not able to attend the monthly class in November when we distributed the tires and tubes.  We pass their thanks on to our faithful supporters.

A week before we were to leave for home we found out we had to have a Coronavirus PCR test 72 hours before flying.   We scrambled to get the audit ready to be left in Tamale and the house closed up because this meant that we had to go to Accra 3 days earlier than expected.   We were happy to get negative tests results.  Sad thing is no one asked for the test results; not even when we came through customs at JFK or in Atlanta.   We arrived back safely on the evening of December 22.   Proud to be in America!

UPDATE:

Since arriving back I (Steve) have contracted the Coronavirus.  So far Kandie’s tests have been negative.  We have no way of knowing where I got it from; so far my case is mild and we thank the Lord for that!  Others have not been so fortunate.  I am happy that I got it in the States instead of in Ghana!

Thank you for your prayers and the support you give to the work.  During these trying times we can see the need for our reliance on the Lord God for help.  Please continue to remember the work in your prayers; we pray for you as well.  May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen & Kandie Taylor
