The month of March is usually when we experience the hottest temperatures.  On the 31st the high temperature was 114o F with a heat index of 126oF.  Water is a scarce commodity and the dust is endless.  It amazes us that mangoes usually ripen in March even though there isn’t any water to be found and the last rain was at the end of October 2023.  It just goes to show that God is “too” wonderful.

We are currently in the dry season which is the time many churches make repairs to their buildings.  When we visited the congregation at Yawondo we noticed their door and windows were being eaten up by the termites so we decided to have a metal door and two windows made for the building.   We also helped with cement to repair the outside of the building.  Several other congregations have requested help with building and we have promised to help match funds when they are ready to start working.

This month we visited Yawondo; we also visited the congregations at Kulkpeni, Wadiig, Nadundo, Kabalani, and Frigmado.  Some congregations are cut off by flooding in the rainy season so we try to visit these places during the dry season.  Kabalani is located about 3 hours north of Yendi. Nana Bekum works with six small congregations in this area.  Five of the six congregations were represented during our visit on the 17th.  I lashed 6 metal communion tables to the bed of the pickup to take to the congregations.  The tables had been stored for several years; first we could not travel to this area because of Covid and then there was a tribal conflict during the dry season last year and then the rain came and we could not get to the villages because of the flooding.  The congregations were happy to see us.  Nana asked us to bring them some drinking water so we loaded 5 gallon water containers in amongst the tables.

Some men from the church at Attado visited the compound on the 20th.  Their roof on the building had failed and they requested matching funds to rebuild it.  We wish to continue to thank all of you who provide funds for us to help congregations for their physical needs.

This month 25 men attended the class which we have on the last Friday of every month.  The men report that 11 people were baptized this month and 3 brethren were restored to the Church. Timothy is teaching the review lesson from the end of the booklet on men and women’s responsibility at home and in the Church.  These lessons generate a lot of discussion.  It may take several classes to finish the review; it makes for a very interesting class.  We were happy to have two teenage boys accept the gospel when we visited the village of Frigmado on the 31st so now the total number of baptisms for the month was 13.

We again want to appeal to anyone wishing to receive the Yendi Notes in their own email mailbox to please send their name and email address to our daughter-in-law, Melissa, at melissajoytaylor@gmail.com   We hope to have the emailing set up in the near future.  You can still read the daily Notes on the website at www.ghanamissionfund.org

Words cannot express our appreciation for your prayers and support spiritually and financially. Without your help the work here would greatly suffer.  May God bless you for all you do!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
